5 Free and Easy ways to make some quick cash on your spare time
Swagbucks:
Surveys, completing offers, shopping, watching videos or
playing games gives you points and you can use those to redeem gift cards and
prizes. I found this to be one of the best survey sites. Its quite easy to
navigate and easy to earn. The rewards are pretty affordable – ie; 300
swagbucks will get you a $3 giftcard.
Panel App:
This app is pretty easy and you don’t have to put in tons of
effort to get some free moola. Once you install the app, just let it run I the
background, but make sure your location is always on, if not you won’t get
points. Check in (open the app) every couple of days and answer a few questions
for extra points. Once you have accumulated at least 1000 points you can redeem
them for gift cards. Keep in mind that it does take time to accumulate enough
points, however, its free money for no minimum effort.
Ebates:
So you’ve probably seen ad’s for ebates on social media,
television, and all over the web. Its plain and simple – the more you shop, the
more money you get back. Obviously, terms and conditions apply, but they are
miniscule. If you shop online this is perfect for you. You can use it on your
phone, tablet or computer. If you do a major part your online shopping on your
phone or tablet, then you should download the ebates app or just use your web
browser. Conversely, if you do you shopping on your computer, you will benefit
the most from installing the ebates toolbar. Just activate the cashback button by
clicking on the drop-down notification found directly on a store’s site. You
also get a hefty amount for referring others.
GiftcardGranny:
This is for all my frugal shoppers who want to save some of
that money you worked so hard for. Giftcardgranny lets you purchase thousands
of gift cards from a variety of stores at a fraction of the cost. Let’s say you
need to make a purchase at target for $100, you then go to site, search for target
and pick a gift card for the amount you need. You can buy a gift card for that
amount and only pay $85 for it. That’s a major bargain if you ask me. If you
buy a giftcard from a partner site, you get points which, when accumulated can
bring rewards such as - you guessed it – Gift cards. You can also sell any unwanted or partially
used gift cards for cash. As a side note – open all newsletters sent from GCG
to earn extra pints (5 per newsletter).
eBay, OfferUp, and LetGo:
if you got junk or items you simply don’t use anymore then,
this is by far one of the easiest ways to make quick cash. eBay might be a bit
complicated for newbies. But no need to fear I will show just how to do it. The
three sites are fairly simple and easy to use and navigate.
- - Take clear pictures of your items – front, back, sides, etc,.
- - Upload the pictures to the site (include pictures of any scratches, tears, dents or holes if applicable)
- - Write a clear, honest description of the item you are selling and be sure to include any defects the items may have
- - Time to add a price – if you are not sure on what price to set your item – search. If you’re on eBay, search for your item and see what it usually sells for (eBay will provide this info). You can bump or lower the price to match the quality of the item
- - Do not be scared – if you think your item is too quirky or useless, you’d be surprised. I opened my eBay account at the ripe age of 18. You’d never guess what my first item was – Shampoo. Yes, you read that right. I sold 2 travel sized bottles of shampoo in less than a day. Mind you, this was back in 2010, buying shampoo or personal care items were popular items to buy on the web in those days.
- - Last step - shipping price. This is another case where you would want to do your research to make sure you are not paying more than what you estimated profit would be. You can ship the item for free if it’s a high-ticket item, as you’ll automatically get an ebay discount when using usps. If you decide to let the buyer pay, be fair. Don’t get crazy with the price. The price should be mutually benefiting. You can also have the item be picked up (for local buyers).
- - You are ready to list now. Before listing, hit the preview button and make sure you haven’t left out any details. Also, note that eBay takes a cut. The amount is fair considering the free tools you are provided with, the platform, and audience.
The steps above apply to all three sites, minus the shipping
for LetGo and OfferUp. Unlike eBay, OfferUp and LetGo do not take cut from your
sales. However, your reach is at local scale, not global.
These are all the things I do to make an extra buck. They do
not consume all your time and some I can set and forget. I truly hope this
